Indian Gaur/Bison

A pair of Indian Gaur ‘Vijay’ and ‘Anusha’ have arrived from Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, Chennai. Bison is listed as an endangered species. Indian Gaur is the largest of wild cattle species. Its muscular hump just behind its shoulder gives the attraction to Gaur.


African Grey Parrot

Newly arrived from Veermata Jijabai Udyan, Bycula, Mumbai. African grey parrots are most intelligent bird species. They are capable of amassing vocabularies of upto 100 words. They are also good in mimicking other sounds.


Indian Wild Dog/Dhole

Dholes/Wild Dogs have been received from Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam on animal exchange. Dholes are endangered animals. Indian Wild Dog has got extraordinary vocalization that warns among them of danger. Its repetitive whistles are so distinct that they can identify individual members of their group.
