Description :Russell's viper is a species of venomous snake native to the Indian subcontinent, much of Southeast Asia, southern China and Taiwan. The Russell's viper is a member of the big four snakes of India. Its venom is haemotoxic. The Russell's viper will take shelter in rodent burrows, old termite mounds, rock crevices, piles of leaves, or other debris. They feed primarily on rodents and small mammals; they also feed on squirrels, shrews, land crabs, scorpions, birds, lizards or frogs. It is ovoviviparous, producing eggs that hatch inside the body and the young are born alive.
