Description : They are also known as white spoonbill, is a Palaearctic species. Their diet consists of aquatic insects, molluscs, newts, crustaceans, worms, leeches, frogs, tadpoles and small fish. They use sideways sweeps of their beaks to filter out the tiny fish and shrimps. More northerly breeding populations are fully migratory, more southerly populations are resident and nomadic or partially migratory. Outside the breeding season they forage singly or in small flocks of up to 100 individuals
